It's easy to help foster peaceful families and confront domestic violence in Austin's Muslim community.
Join
Central Texas Muslimaat and
Safeplace for the 21st annual Walk for Safe Families and Safe Streets on Saturday, April 12, 2008, from 10 am - 2 pm.
For a small donation of $25, participants receive a CTM t-shirt and the opportunity to show everyone that Austin Muslims care about promoting peaceful families and will not tolerate domestic violence in their communities.
All funds raised by CTM will benefit the Family Matters program, which offers guidance and support to Muslim women who are dealing with abuse in their homes and educates the larger community about the issue of domestic violence. The Family Matters Hotline (512-577-SAFE) has been providing support to Muslim women for the past 5 years, and with your help can continue to do so.
Can't make the walk?
If you can't make the walk, but would still like to help, we have
volunteer opportunities available as well. Be sure to state you are interested in participating with the SafePlace walk in the additional information field. If you can't volunteer, but would like to donate, you may
do so here.
